Learning to Wait on God
Numbers 9:17-18 = “And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed; and in teh place where the cloud abode, there teh children of Israel pitched their tents. At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched; as long as the cloud abode upon teh tabernacle they rested in their tents.”
What a marvelous picture of the people of God learning to live in God’s will and follow His direction!
Oh how important it is as Christians, to learn to wait on the will of God and follow His direction for our lives!
v.19 = “And when the cloud tarried long… then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD…”
While we wait on the Lord, we must keep busy doing what we know we’re supposed to be doing!
B. Campbell Morgan said: “Waiting for God is not laziness. Waiting for God is not going to sleep. Waiting on God is not the abandonment of effort. Waiting for God means first, activity under command; second, readiness for any new command that may come; third, the ability to do nothing until the command is given.”
Lamentations 3:24-25 = “The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.”
Oh may God help us to learn to wait on Him!
